Our History

Tanholm Limousin was estabished in 1974 through imports from France. Over the years, our partnership with Limousin has been very successful.

Tanholm genetics have been exported worldwide to; USA, Canada, UK, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Holland and also sold to every state and territory within Australia.

As we do not make compromises on quality and breed characteristics, we have had a lot of satisfied customers over the years and continue to rely on Tanholm Limousin Genetics as our only business.

In 1991, we established our first Australian stud in Queensland by importing 16 of our Danish heifers, selected embryos and semen including the legendary AI sire Refstrup Tabias, who continues to make a major impact on the breed in Australia.

On the 30th of March 2007, we relocated the stud to our present location here at “Glen Etive”, Hernani.

We are delighted with this move as we believe it will be a positive one for Tanholm Limousin.
